Mr. Larry is the greatest! I have bought horses from black hill ranch and he sold a couple of my horses when I was going through a divorce. It was a difficult time for me loosing my horses but he made sure that my horses didn't just go to any buyers but to the right buyers. Which was very important to me.

Dear Larry of Black Hills Ranch, I just had to share how wonderful Rix and I are doing. He is truly a dream come true for me! After spending weeks on the lunge line and months of lessons, I have finally found my seat again. Today we started our flying changes and he is so smart and it was so fun. I love him so much!!! I also bought a trailer and we have been taking all kinds of adventures across the countryside, jumping logs and galloping like crazy people. We have so much fun together! Dear Black Hills Ranch: I wanted to let you guys know how things are working out with Lorca. It's been 3 months since he arrived, and from the very beginning he proved to be not only sensible but so sweet and friendly. He attracted a lot of attention because of his unusual coloring, and I got lots of compliments from the other boarders who told me how handsome he is. What has impressed me and Raul the most is his outstanding temperament. He has taken his surroundings in stride and does not seem to be bothered by anything. Although he called a lot during the first week he was here, that disappeared soon afterwards. Raul teaches me about 3 times a week, and we are making steady progress. As Raul noted when he rode him recently, Lorca is very willing and does whatever you ask of him, certainly an indication of the excellent training he received from you guys. So, all in all, we couldn't be more pleased!."

" Hi Larry. I thought that I would write and give you an update on Tori. It took us a while to establish a connection (I had to become a much better rider), but we have now and progress is going exponentially. He is a dream horse - so smart, happy, talented, and has a crazy amount of impulsion. We are schooling all second and third level movements and should start showing next summer. T. is now seven and is getting great muscles too. He has a lovely working trot and developing a great medium trot. I have attached pictures so you can see how he is developing. Thanks again for Tori!

¨I am the lucky new owner of a PRE horse trained and selected by Larry. I am an older, adult amateur rider that was looking for a safe horse that would be very amenable to my lack of riding skills. Larry has given me the perfect partner. Everyone who has met him from my farrier, vet, trainer, and even my husband say I could not have purchased a nicer horse or a more beautiful one. We are very excited to start our journey together and to learn from one another. I have seen no change in his willingness to work since he has come to Colorado – he is still very light to the aids and performs as well at his new home as when I first rode him. "I purchased Diamond through Larry in April, 2022. I was making a transition from English to Western, and was experiencing true horse buying for basically the first time (my previous horse I had known for several years and bought from a close friend). Although I have many years of riding experience, much of what I was doing was new. I had tried very few horses before trying Diamond, but I had a hunch that she was a good fit, and years of horse experience told me to go with my gut. Still, since I bought a horse I did not really know from a person I did not know, I have been waiting for the other shoe to drop. Would my trainer say I made a huge mistake? Nope. She's good. Would the vet say she is riddle with issues and a complete mess? Nope. She's fine. Would the farrier say her feet are horrible and would take a lifetime of expensive shoes to fix? Nope. Her feet are ok. Now that Diamond has settled into her new home, she is showing herself to be the calm, unfazed, gentle horse I was looking for. She is a sweet horse and a real pleasure to work with and to ride! Larry made the whole buying experience smooth and unpreassured. He answered all of my questions, and continues to do so long after the purchase was completed. He has been honest and he made himself available to help in any way I may need. I especially appreciate that he has followed up multiple times since the purchase to be sure everything is going well.
