We are ICC registered and operate few trucks and trailers throughout the United States and Canada. Unlike other ranches, Black Hills Ranch have a trucking service to transport horses to some of its buyer’s destination. We operate our own fleet of trucks and trailers. Drivers are family members who have spent time caring for horses. This helps us ensure that all horses are well cared for during hauling, and that we can answer any questions about the horses when they are delivered to our customers.

A general rule of thumb, we ask for 7 days to ship your horse or horses to your destination. We often deliver within 5 days depending on buyer’s destination, but from previous experiences, we have noticed that it’s much better not to raise expectations and have the buyer disappointed so we give 7 days to have your horse or horses delivered.

Prior to shipping we have a normal procedure to get your horse/horses ready by obtaining a health certificate from our vet, which takes 1 to 2 days, before the horse/horses can depart. During this time we prepare your horse for shipping with probios and electrolytes, it’s also moved to a private paddock or stall, and will be groomed before leaving.

Hauling/Shipping cost usually ranges from $800 to $1500 depending on a number of factors:

– How far you live.

-How many horses you want to purchase ( If you purchase 3+ horses, we will ship them for free)

-Do you wish to transport your horse alone.

We always strive to find the best possible solution with our partners in order to transport your horse or horses to their destinations in timely manner. Only about 3% of our clientele actually fly or drive in to try our horses before they buy them because we have a 30 days money back guarantee policy on all our horses, most customers choose not to come which is okay. We encourage customers who are close to come try the horses, it can help us to see and evaluate the rider’s skill level too, although we are very good at matching clients with the right horses sight unseen.
