“Wells” – 8.2H, (34”) 12 year old black mini pony gelding…. If you want to see your kids (or grandkids) all out there in the yard enjoying a pony riding from the playground, to the barn, to the pond, to their playhouse – playing games with the pony in tow….then you have to get them a GOOD pony. Not all of these little tiny ponies are the same! We get lots of little ponies like this that are gentle and will leadline well, but the ones that will both leadline the little toddlers, AND ride around…the ones that will trot and lope, and guide around well for the bigger kiddos too – those ponies are pretty rare! We are lucky to get a handful of ponies like this each year and we go through a lot of little ponies that are not so easy and good-minded….finding these special little ones!

Wells is so fun and easy and not remotely intimidating! He is big boned, well put together, and stout made. He is thick and strong enough for the bigger kids to ride too!!! He guides around easily one-handed and will walk all day if that’s all you want to do – he will also happily trot and lope circles just like a big horse! He is a pleasant little guy, with absolutely no rotten little pony attitude – he is adorable. Since the day we got this pony, my daughter asks to take him literally absolutely everywhere, if we are hooked up to a trailer, she is trying to load Mr Wells to go with us. He has been on many runs down the trail, has been to many dinners, been through several drive-thrus, been to several family gatherings, been to every park in town – if we are hooked up to a trailer, she is loading this one and dragging him along! He hops right on and off the trailer, and will stand quietly all day.

He has practically lived on the trailer several days with us … and he eats and drinks well. Wells will stand quietly tied anywhere or relax and nap on the trailer. He is a cute little jumper, and LOVES it whether it’s a log out on the trail or a real jump in the arena! He is a cute little mover, and would be absolutely adorable for a tiny little kid to do the ground rails, the entry level dressage tests, or walk-trot cross rails on!!! No vices or bad habits – easy to catch, even in the pasture or a pen of wild ponies! He is good with his feet and loves a bath!
